Goodies!!

I took a field trip today with a lovely group of ladies from my knitting meetup. We went out to the Berkshires of Massachusetts, where we hit the biggest, most beautiful yarn store that I have ever seen!!! So many beautiful colors and textures! I couldn't resist buying some supplies for some upcoming projects, some planned ahead and some just bought on the spot!
The yarn on the top is for a hat that I am going to make for myself. I know, I don't wear hats often but I found a pattern that you don't have to do any purling. Also, it gives me a chance to use the circular needles that Kim got me for Christmas! I loved the colors together, it will go nice with my gray coat.
The second skein, well, it just spoke to me. If you look closely you'll see that the silk is covered in little silvery sequins. It was also deeply discounted, and had a little scarf sample next to it that I fell in love with! I thought it would go nice with a black velvet jacket or to make up a little shawl for a special occasion.
Today really was a lot of fun. I got to know five people better than I had before today, and I really enjoyed myself. And given the stress of my life lately, it was really good to get out! I have been working late nights, trying to get an important project finished, and that will probably continue for the next couple of weeks. I'm very lucky to have a supportive husband who has been able to change his schedule and is willing to tackle more daily life stuff!
