A Very Scattered Wednesday Post

-My calendar, both personally and professionally, is looking ridiculous for March.  I'm wondering how to clone Brian and I and see how we can get things done.  Doctors appointments (my first with the kidney specialist), birthday parties, school stuff, etc.  Aughhh!

-But on the good news front, Maureen is coming to visit this weekend!  We're going to eat delicious food at home, and do some serious knitting.  It sounds so, so good.

-Piles of snow everywhere.  It's all anyone can talk about, that and the condition of the roads.  It's getting depressing.  Spring is coming, right?

-We had a pipe freeze in the house again. With the re-zoning of the house, it only took out the bedrooms while the rest of the house was toasty.   Brian and I went out to a nice sushi dinner last Friday and afterwards we had a romantic time trolling the local 24-hour Walmart and scoring the last two space heaters in the place.  Brian's finally isolated the issue in the garage, and we're making amends so this doesn't happen anymore.  And hurrah...no broken pipes when it thawed!  I love plastic pipes.

-Speaking of house things....we're re-doing the master bathroom!  No more pale, newspaper-background paint and white beadboard.  It's going to be lovely when it's finished.  Right now it's not-so-lovely and on it's way to being trashed.  When it's done in hopefully a few weeks though, it's going to be pretty and so worth it.

-Knitting for some babies being born on Brian's side of the family this year!  Now that the Wallaby sweater for Will is done, I'm working on a scarf for my old assistant, Leona.  It's in bright pinks and purples because she loves brights best.  THEN bring on the baby knitting!!!

I guess that's all the news that's fit to print.

(Not so) Wordless Wednesday: Genuine Bliss

Flipping thru some photos on our computer, I found this gem:  Brian holding Will for the first time at the hospital shortly after he was born. (October, 2006)  Look at that proud smile, despite being up 40+ hours with me, that is one beamin' Daddy!  This will forever be one of my favorite photos of our family history.

Wordless Wednesday: "Hey, Good Lookin'!"

Sean, age 2.  (or 27 months, whichever you prefer.)  As always, Joey works his way into the photo, too.  (Joey:  Age 10 years.)

Wordless Wednesday: Play-Dough Creations

With no help from us, Will created "ice cream sundaes" with his playdough.  Right down to a spoon to scoop them up.  Sounds like this kid is going to enjoy cooking as much as Mommy and Daddy!

Wordless Wednesday: Nana's Favorite Chair

(Not exactly wordless today!)

While I was looking for a photo and eating my breakfast (I don't know how NOT to multi-task)  Will came into the room and said "Hey Mom, is that your blog??"  It's pretty cool that he recognizes stuff like that now.  When I told him what I was doing, he begged to pick the photo.  So here you go!  This is Will, circa.....2008?  I know, you'd think it was Sean if you didn't know better.  It's tough....we certainly have to label our photos around here.  Will's snuggled up tight in a blanket, probably somewhere between awake and asleep.  He loved blankets back then, and he still does today.  Even on a hot day he loves to snuggle in blankets and says "My favorite thing is soft, Mommy."

Anyway, this is Nana's favorite chair, a leather recliner in her living room.  I love that chair as well, probably for all the same reasons:  comfy, warm, good for knitting and TV.  Actually, everyone loves that chair.  If I thought that she wouldn't notice, I'd steal it.  (Just kidding.  I know she'd notice.  Right away!)

Wordless Wednesday: Artwork

Mommy took an unexpected day off today when the daycare had an emergency close.  So the boys and I spent some time on artwork this rainy morning!

Sean joining in on the fun

Will displaying some paper bag art.

Will proudly showing off something that we collaborated on together.

My parents will surely recognize our work:  it's a swirl picture!  I used to make a lot of these as a girl.

After naptime....perhaps baking cookies is in order.

Summer's Coming....Sometime

Don't worry, Joe-Joe, it will be warm enough soon to get outside and enjoy it!  You will see Nana and Papa's dock soon enough.

For now, though, your sunshine naps at the back door are going to have to do.
